Muscat Municipality issues guidelines for cinemas at maximum of 50% capacity

Muscat: Oman has announces to reopen Cinemas starting from today, December 1, 2020,

Muscat Municipality in a statement said: Heading back to Cinemas or other showrooms? Abide by the following preventive measures to protect yourself and others from Covid-19.

Here are the list of Preventive Control and Measures in Cinemas and Showrooms

1,  Train all workers with procedures related to safety, sterilisation and social distancing

2, Install social distancing stickers on the floors to delineate personal boundaries and create physical space between customers

3, Set the necessary guidance to delineate personal boundaries and create physical space between individuals (2m)

4, Provide disinfectant containing at least 70% alcohol in all the cinema facilities

5, Limit the number of customers to 50% capacity only

6, Conduct health check for workers regularly

7, Ensure a safe distance between customers at the ticket windows with just one queue

8, Encourage customers to use electronic booking systems for tickets and meals

9, Turn off all self-service touchscreen ticketing machine

10, Comply with hygiene and sterilisation standards established by other competent authorities

11, Measures the body temperature of people before entry, and exclude those with temperature above 37* C  or show symptoms of sickness

12, Require all people workers, customers and visitors, to wear face masks

13, Document the disinfection operations in a record with the disinfectant being mentioned

14, Leave at least 15 minutes between films so not to cause congestion at the main entrance

15, Serve food and beverages in disposable single use cans and packaging in small sizes to avoid sharing as much a possible

16, Reorganise the seats at the reception area to social distancing

17, Avoid distributing publication and brochures for shows and films

Increase the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of common surfaces using the appropriate materials, focus on the following

1, Door handles, stairs and lifts

2, Reception and tickets purchase areas

3, Ticket machines

4, Meal sale area

5, Seats (after each show)

6, Restrooms

Controls for Showroom in Cinemas

1, Operate at 50% capacity in each showroom in the cinema to ensure physical distancing

2, Practice physical distancing as follows:

Horizontal spacing by allocating two seats to customers and leaving two seats empty

Vertical spacing by filling one row and leaving the other one empty, and placing labels on floors

3, Dedicate at least 15 minutes of time to allow for effective disinfection after each show

4, Clean and disinfect all showroom facilities and tools after each show

5, Allocating certain entrances and exits to the showrooms and ask workers to organise entry and exiting to avoid crowding

Controls fro Services in VIP Rooms

1, Ban any paper publication such as newspapers, magazines and menus

2, Only allow workers to use tablets for selecting or telling available meals to customers

3, Clean and disinfect all showroom facilities and tools after each show

Controls for the Cinema-Goers (Customers)

Disinfect hands using 70% alcohol disinfectant especially after touching common surfaces cinema and before entering

Book tickets in advance via the cinema app

Adhere to the hygiene etiquette & practices (covering the nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing)

Adhere to the preventive measure with a safe physical distance (2 meters)

Wear your face mask all the times except when eating

Avoid mass attendance (more than four people as much as possible)

Report any violations with the above controls, or if your suspect a sick person
