    • Netanyahu fires Yoav Gallant, citing trust issues

    Benjamin Netanyahu has fired his defense minister Yoav Gallant and appointed Israel Katz as the new defense minister, his office announced Tuesday.

    Netanyahu said his trust in Gallant had ‘eroded during the war campaign’, adding that a ‘crisis of trust’ gradually developed between himself and Gallant that did not allow for ‘normal management of war’. Gideon Saar will replace Katz as foreign minister in Netanyahu’s government
