Mandatory PCR tests with 7 day of quarantine for all arrivals, Oman’s supreme Committee
Muscat: The Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) decided in its meeting yesterday that those coming to the Sultanate from all border outlets must obtain a (PCR) test for Corona-virus within a period not more than 96 hours prior to entering the Sultanate.
Passengers should also undergo the same test upon arrival in the Sultanate and commitment to quarantine for a period of 7 days with re-examination of the PCR test on the 8th day again.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of their Excellencies and Excellencies members, in the General Office of the Ministry of Interior, to follow up on the developments of this pandemic locally and globally, measures to prevent it and ways to avoid its spread and tackle its different impacts.
The Supreme Committee also reviewed a proposal to open the door to volunteering to confront the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) and decided to assign their Excellencies the governors to start registering those wishing to contribute to this noble national work in accordance with the terms that will be announced later.
