Oman Falls to Bahrain 106–62 in 2029 Asian Cup Basketball Qualifiers
Dubai: The Oman national basketball team suffered a 106–62 defeat against Bahrain in its second match of the first window of the preliminary qualifiers for the 2029 FIBA Asia Cup.
The match, held at the Shabab Al Ahli Arena in Dubai, saw Bahrain maintain control throughout all four quarters. The Bahraini side led 24–13 at the end of the first quarter before extending its advantage to 56–31 at halftime.
Bahrain continued its dominance after the break, taking the third quarter 24–15 and the final quarter 26–16 to complete a 44-point victory.
The result follows Oman’s 88–63 defeat against Kuwait in its opening match of the qualifying campaign.
Oman will next face hosts the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, 30 August, before concluding its participation in the first window against Nepal on Monday, 31 August.
The qualifying group includes Oman, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait and Nepal, with the teams competing in a single round-robin format. The top three teams will advance to the second round of the qualifiers.
