Oman Club beats Dibba Al-Hisn in the opening of the 41st Gulf Handball Championship

Muscat: Oman Club defeated Dibba Al-Hisn of the UAE in the opening of the Gulf Handball Championship for Clubs, hosted by the Sultanate of Oman at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Mohammed bin Salem Al Said. The ceremony was simple with the entry of the participating teams through the flags of the countries raised by a group of participating students, after which the match began.

The first half ended in a draw with a score of 15/15 after a good performance by both teams. Dibba Al-Hisn was the better team for most of the first half, relying on shooting from the six-yard line, while Oman Club imposed its usual style of penetration, whether through the circle player or from both sides, and succeeded in most of their attacks to benefit from them.

In the second half of the match, the lead was in favor of Oman Club, and the two teams exchanged goals, with Oman Club deciding the match in its favor with a score of 29/26.

In the first match of the tournament, Al-Arabi of Qatar defeated Kuwait of Kuwait in the second group matches, after a good level presented by Al-Arabi in the two halves of the match, as the first half ended with a score of 18/14. In the second half, the two teams exchanged control and scoring goals, ending with a score of 34/33 in favor of Al-Arabi of Qatar.
