    • Oman Condemns Israeli Settlement Activities in Occupied West Bank

    Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has condemned Israeli settlement activities on Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank, describing them as a violation of international law and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

    In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that such unilateral measures constitute a flagrant violation of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention, and undermine international efforts to achieve a two-state solution and establish an independent Palestinian state living alongside Israel in peace and security.

    Oman warned that continued settlement expansion would undermine prospects for peace and contribute to further instability in the region, contrary to international efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

    The Sultanate called on the international community to unite in condemning the settlement activities and take practical and concrete measures to ensure accountability in accordance with international law.

    It also stressed the need for Israel to fulfil its legal responsibilities and immediately halt all settlement activities.

    Oman reaffirmed that achieving a just and lasting peace requires respect for international law and recognition of the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish an independent state.
