Muscat: The total domestic liquidity increased by 2% by the end of July 2022 to stand at RO 20,358.6 million compared to RO 19,955.4 million by the end of July 2021, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The total foreign assets of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) decreased by 18.7%, reaching RO 5,382.7 million by the end of July 2022 compared to RO 6,618.2 million by the end of the corresponding period in 2021.
Narrow Money Supply (M1) rose by 1.5% to reach RO 5,898.9 million compared to RO 5,811.7 million during the same period in 2021.
The private sector deposits with commercial banks and Islamic windows declined by 0.4% by the end of July 2022, reaching RO 17,066.4 million compared to RO 17,140.6 million during the same period in 2021.
Total loans and financing in commercial banks and Islamic windows went up by 2.1% to stand at RO 27,860.4 million by the end of July 2022 compared to RO 27,292 million during the same period in 2021.
The effective exchange rate index of the Omani Rial increased by 9.5% to reach 113.8 points compared to 103.9 points by the end of the same period in 2021.
Meanwhile, the total issue currency by the end of July 2022 dropped by 7.3% to reach RO 1,693 million compared to RO 1,826.1 million by the end of July 2021.
