Beijing: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the official opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games hosted by the Chinese city of Hangzhou, which will continue until the 8th of next October, with the participation of more than 12,000 athletes competing in 40 sports, at the “Big Lotus” Olympic Stadium. “.

The ceremony was opened by Chinese President Xi Jinping in the presence of the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, and a number of world presidents, their highnesses, and ministers of sports and youth on the Asian continent.

The Sultanate of Oman was represented at the opening ceremony by His Excellency Basil bin Ahmed Al-Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, and His Excellency Nasser bin Mohammed.

Today, the national hockey team will open its participation in the 19th Asian Games by meeting the Chinese team, the host of the tournament. Yesterday morning, the team conducted its last training session to raise its level and readiness in preparation for the upcoming confrontation on the floor of the Gongshu Sports Stadium Canal Garden Complex.

Later, the duo of our national beach soccer team (Mazen Al-Hashemi and Noah Al-Jalboubi) will meet with the Kazakhstan team in the matches of the sixteenth round of the beach soccer competitions, while the duo of our national beach soccer team, Ahmed Al-Hosani and Haitham Al-Shuraiqi, will meet with the Qatar national team.
