OFA Announces Dismissal of coach Jaroslav Silhavy
Muscat: Oman Football Association (OFA) has decided to dismiss Czech Jaroslav Silhavy, coach of the national football team, six months after his appointment, following the failures he recorded with the national team at the start of its journey in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Source revealed that it is widely expected that the national coach, Rashid Jaber Al-Yafei, will be appointed to lead in the next phase.
Shelhafi’s dismissal comes after our national team lost its first two matches against Iraq in Basra, and its second against the Korean national team in Muscat, amid public demands to dismiss the coach and his assistant staff.
Oman national team is scheduled to meet its Kuwaiti and Jordanian counterparts next October, in the third and fourth rounds of the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup.
