Oman, India discusses on COVID-19 vaccines

Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, the Minister of Health received yesterday on Monday at his office His Excellency Munu Mahawar, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman.

In a statement issued online MOH said:  the meeting exchanged cordial conversation and discussed means of cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Furthermore, the epidemiological situation of the current pandemic (COVID-19) was highlighted during the meeting along with the global efforts exerted in combating the disease and aspects of cooperation between the two sides in responding to Covid-19 pandemic were underlined.”

The meeting also addressed vaccinations expected to be released by manufacturers within the upcoming period including the Indian companies that are currently working on producing (Covid-19) vaccination.

The Health Minister of Oman discussed with His Excellency the Ambassador of India the possibility of considering the Sultanate to be one of the countries to receive the vaccine after evaluating its efficacy and safety in clinical trials.

Number of senior officials also attended the meeting.” Added in the statement.
