Muscat: Oman is working to provide to 20% of Covid-19 vaccine before the end of this year

His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Saif Al Hosani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, said in a special interview for “Sultanate of Oman” TV about the role of the field hospital for Covid-19 patients, said that work to provide the vaccine is in full swing, and there are promising results, which have begun to appear, but there is no approved vaccine by international organizations so far.

His Excellency added that the Sultanate has joined the International Vaccine Federation, which will provide 10% of the “Covid 19” vaccine before the end of this year, and the other 10% will be provided from the rest of the vaccine manufacturers, so that the Sultanate will have 20% of the vaccine before the end of this year. It will be given first to health workers, police and military personnel who start work on the front lines.

His Excellency affirmed that the field hospital is still in the process of being equipped to accommodate “Covid-19” patients, and its aim is to reduce the burden on reference hospitals in the governorate of Muscat and the near by governorates, and that this hospital will be one of the tools to restore health services in other hospitals to some of what they used to be. Previously.

He stated that the first phase will include 100 beds, in addition to a place for accommodation that can be converted to a hospital if the need arises.
