Oman issues reopening guidance for hairdressing shops, women beauty centres

Muscat: As lockdowns ease in Oman, barbershops and women beauty centres owners and employees are returning to workplaces that in order to open must prepare safety protocols to meet COVID-19  guidelines and adapt their salons to operate safely as Muscat municipality issues guideline to operate in Phase one services are below.

phase one guidelines issued by Muscat municipality are as below:-

Hair cutting & colouring

1, Disinfect hair combs and tools before and after use by placing them in a thermal box or a UVL device.

2, Replace Hairdressing Gown Barbers Capes with disposable ones made of paper or plastic

Cleaning and cutting nails

1, Wash hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds after completing the service.

2, Put a transparent barrier between workers and the customers.

3, Disinfect nail polish bottles, equipments and basins before and after use.

4, Disinfect all tools uses to clean and cut nails with a disinfecting solution, then place them in a thermal box or a UVL device.

5, Use single use items when putting lotions and creams during nail cutting.

Body hair removal with wax

1, Prepare a quantity of wax destined for one use at a time and for one customer.

2, Use disposable items (fabric, wooden sticks and bed cover).
