Muscat: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced the issuance of a batch of new coins in denominations of 50, 25, 10 and 5 baisas, which will start trading with them as of next month.
The Central Bank of Oman has also issued a commemorative coin set, which will be available for sale for one Omani riyal, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, 8/19/2020.
The new coins are distinguished by new specifications, as the front side of the coins bears the name of His Majesty the Sultan (Haitham bin Tariq), may God protect him, the national slogan, and the name “Sultanate of Oman”.
While the reverse side of the coins bears the following: the denomination in Arabic, the denomination in English – the word Baisa in English, the Hijri and Gregorian date in Arabic.
