Oman Launches International Program to Train Women Football Administrators

Muscat: The International Program for Building the Capacities of Women Football Administrators was launched in Muscat today, with the participation of 45 representatives from various entities and sectors.

The three-day program is organized by the Women’s Committee of the Oman Football Association (OFA) in cooperation with the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).

The program aims to equip participants with basic administrative and organizational knowledge and skills and prepare them to pursue future opportunities in clubs, competitions, national teams, sporting events and programs related to women’s football.

The initiative forms part of efforts to develop women’s competencies and strengthen their participation in football administration and organizational fields.

Hajar bint Khamis Al-Muzaini, Member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Football Association and Head of the Women’s Committee, said that the program forms part of the broader vision for developing women’s football in the Sultanate of Oman.

She noted that the vision is based on building an integrated system that extends beyond player development to include the qualification of female coaches, referees, administrators and leaders, thereby supporting the sustainability of women’s football and creating clear opportunities for participation and professional development.

Al-Muzaini highlighted the importance of developing career pathways for female administrators and familiarizing participants with opportunities within the football system. This, she said, would contribute to establishing a national pool of qualified professionals capable of undertaking specialized and leadership roles.

The program covers several topics, including sports management principles, the roles and responsibilities of administrators in teams and competitions, sports event planning and organization, match and tournament operations, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making and the creation of a professional and safe sporting environment.

The participants include university and college students specializing in physical education, club administrators and female volunteers with experience and interest in managing and organizing sporting events.

The program features lectures delivered by FIFA experts and specialists, enabling participants to benefit from international expertise and best practices in women’s football management and development.

The program also includes practical exercises, interactive discussions and experience-sharing sessions between participants and lecturers, with the aim of translating theoretical knowledge into practical skills applicable across various sporting environments.
