Oman national day 2020: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Speech Live Updates

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, on Wednesday addressed the nation on the occasion of the 50th National Day of the Renaissance.

We decided to keep celebrations to a limited extent to protect everyone’s safety

Oman was able to overcome all challenges with the wisdom of Sultan Qaboos, may God have mercy on him, and the sacrifices of its loyal people

We will continue to be inspired by the essence of the same principles and values, to lead our country with confident steps towards the prestigious position that we all aspire to.

Making the vision succeed is the responsibility of all of us, without exception

We worked on developing the state’s administrative apparatus, reforming the cabinet, and entrusting it with implementing plans and strategies.

We are working to review laws and legislations and activate accountability

We will continuously monitor the progress of this administrative system

The world is going through unprecedented situations during this period, in which the global crisis coincided with a significant drop in oil prices and the spread of the Corona virus

We have given special attention to follow up the matter at the local, regional and global levels

The health, social and economic sectors are our top priorities

The current crisis has opened an opportunity for national energies to contribute to solutions, and has accelerated the pace of transformation in the technical side

The response that you showed in light of the financial circumstances was and is still appreciated by us, stressing that the purpose of these measures is to achieve the financial sustainability of the state and prepare for the implementation of many development plans.

Despite the challenges facing our economy, the fiscal balance plan and the measures that have been taken are sufficient to bring our economy to a safe haven

We will ensure that part of the revenues from these financial policies is directed to the social protection system

On the 50th anniversary, we extend to you all our thanks and praise for preserving the gains made over the past fifty years.

We salute our armed forces and assure that they will receive all our care

We ask God to bless the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may God rest his soul in peace
