Muscat: Oman’s national team coach, Branko Ivankovic, announced the postponement of the internal camp, which was scheduled on September 20, explaining that the decision came because of the opportunity for local clubs to include among their players who represent the national team.
The Branko Ivankovic Oman’s national team coach added at the press conference held this afternoon in the conference hall of Al-Seeb Stadium, that the cancellation decision came in an agreement between the Omani Federation and local clubs, in order for the players to regularize their training and return to their normal levels, in preparation for the return and completion of the 2020/2019 season matches. Within the Sultan Qaboos Cup, Omantel League and First Division League competitions.
Ivankovic added that all the players will be monitored and their physical and technical levels will be monitored, in order to select the elite from them in the next external camp, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, next November, where it is certain, according to the coach’s statements, that the team will play two friendly matches against Jordan and Kuwait.

The Coach also pointed out that the upcoming period is important in preparing the national team, in order to reach readiness in preparation for competition in the joint Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China, stressing that the door to the national team will always be open to players who prove their preference and eligibility to represent the national team the first.
It is worth noting that our national team is preparing to return to the Asian competitions within the fifth group, which includes the teams of Qatar, India, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, and our team comes in second place with 12 points behind the Qatari team, only one point difference.
