Oman Gas Output Up 2.5% as Demand from Power Plants Grows
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman’s total natural gas production, including domestic output and imports, increased by 2.5 percent to reach 13.744 billion cubic meters by the end of March 2026, compared to 13.407 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2025.
Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that associated gas production declined by 2.2 percent to 2.970 billion cubic meters, compared to 3.036 billion cubic meters in the corresponding period of 2025.
Non-associated gas production, including imports, recorded an increase of 3.9 percent, reaching 10.773 billion cubic meters.
Natural gas consumption in industrial projects rose by 3.1 percent to 7.367 billion cubic meters, while consumption in power plants increased by 12.9 percent to 3.530 billion cubic meters.
In contrast, gas consumption in oil fields declined by 8.8 percent to 2.798 billion cubic meters.
Gas consumption in industrial areas also decreased by 31.6 percent, reaching 47.2 million cubic meters by the end of March 2026.
