Oman Participates in 41st Arab Interior Ministers Council Session in Tunisia

Omani interior minister meets with Tunisian counterpart

Tunis: The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 41st session meeting of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, which was held in Tunis today under the auspices of President Kais Saied of the Tunisian Republic.

Oman’s delegation was led by Sayyid Hamoud Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior.

The meeting discussed a number of projects, including the 11th Arab security plan, the 9th Arab media plan for security awareness and crime prevention, and the 8th interim plan for the Arab strategy of traffic safety.

It also reviewed a set of topics listed on the agenda, including the report of the Secretary-General of the Council on the work of the General Secretariat between the previous and current sessions, and the report of the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences on the work of the University between the two sessions, in addition to the recommendations of conferences and meetings held last years.

Alongside the Arab Interior Ministers, the meeting was attended by representatives from the GCC, the Arab Maghreb Union, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Europol, and the Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Justice Project.

The delegation accompanying Sayyid Hamoud comprised Maj.Gen Abdullah Ali Al Harthy, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Operations, Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Sinani, Oman’s Ambassador to Tunisia and a number of officials at the Ministry of Interior and the Royal Oman Police.
