Oman participates in Arab high-level forum for multidimensional social development

Doha: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Social Development, participated today in the work of the “High-Level Arab Forum for Multidimensional Social Development,” organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in the State of Qatar.

The Sultanate of Oman’s participating delegation was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development.

The forum included two high-level meetings, where the first meeting was about the Doha Declaration approved by the Arab Summit (32) entitled “Moving Forward Beyond 2030, Towards Multidimensional Social Development.” It included 3 working sessions that included a number of working papers, interventions and comments, where the first discussed “Implementing the Doha Declaration,” the second is “Eliminating multidimensional poverty in the Arab region, a major goal for implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan in the world,” and the third is “The Second Arab Decade for Persons with Disabilities 2023-2032, a regional qualitative leap to promote inclusion and guarantee rights.”

The second meeting was about “Enhancing the capabilities of people with disabilities, productive families, and their entrepreneurship by investing in smart solutions,” which included two working sessions. The first working session discussed “Investing in smart solutions and modern technologies to support the independence of people with disabilities,” and the second discussed “Environment for Stakeholders in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.”
