Oman Participates in Meeting of Global Coalition Against Daesh

Riyadh: Represented by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman took part today in the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition Against Daesh.

Held today in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the meeting brought together delegates from Arab and friendly countries, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations. Oman’s delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi.

The meeting dealt with ongoing global efforts to eliminate hotbeds of terrorism, in compliance with the objectives of the United Nations and the UN Charter on at maintaining international peace and security.

The meeting laid emphasis on collective responsibility and the need to consolidate cooperation, exchange experiences and develop all means of combating terrorism and addressing the ideology of hate. It elaborated on means of dismantling the networks of terrorism, enhancing the stability and prosperity of societies and realizing peaceful coexistence among different communities.

The meeting was attended by HH Sayyid Faisal Turki Al Said, Oman’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Khalid Hashel Al Muselhi, Head of the Minister’s Office Department, and Sheikh Humaid Ali Al Ma’ani, Head of the International Affairs Department, among other officials. -ONA
