Oman to face Bahrain 26th Arabian Gulf Cup final
Muscat: Oman set up a summit clash with Bahrain in the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup in Kuwait on Tuesday. The final will be held on January 4, Saturday.
In the semi-finals, a ten-man Oman edged past Saudi Arabia 2-1 while Bahrain knocked out hosts Kuwait 1-0 in the second semi-final at Jaber International Stadium after also being reduced to ten man in the 52nd minute after Mahdi Abduljabbar was sent off.
Bahrain’s Mohamed Marhoon slammed the winner in the 75th minute and then bravely held on to thwart Kuwait attacks till the end of the final whistle, which saw an additional ten minutes of injury time.
