Muscat: The Supreme Committee on Covid-19 decided to allow reopening mosques, which have a capacity to accommodate not less than 400 persons, for the five Obligatory prayers as of Sunday 29th Rabi al-Awwal 1442 corresponding to 15th November 2020 and in accordance with the following regulations.
1, An individual should avoid going to mosques if he, any of his family members or contacts have Covid-19 symptoms
2, Mosques to be opened at the prayer’s adhan for a period not exceeding 25 minutes including adhan, prayers and leaving the mosque.
3, Qurans and other books at mosques shall be kept unreachable and not to be used by individuals.
4, All drinking water coolers shall be locked.
5, Washrooms shall be kept completely closed.
6, Every individual shall bring his own prayers mat when coming to mosque.
7, Every individual shall adhere to wearing a face mask during his stay at mosque.
8, Sanitizing hands regularly in the entry and exit of mosques
9, Maintaining a safe distance of 1 and half meter between each individual
10, Mosques custodians shall ensure the adherence of all persons coming to mosques with the above-mentioned regulations and other precautionary procedures incorporated in ‘Guidelines and Procedures of Mosques Reopening’ issued by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs that are in line with the regulations stated herein.
