Oman tops medal table at Gulf Beach Games

Muscat: The 3rd Gulf Games in Muscat 2025 concludes, with the Sultanate of Oman topping the overall medal table in the tournament, which saw the participation of six Gulf countries and lasted for seven days.

Oman topped the final medal standings with 20 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 7 bronze medals, for a total of 45 medals.

The UAE came in second with 22 medals, including 8 gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze.

Saudi Arabia came in third with a total of 18 medals, including 4 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze medals.

At the end of the competition, our national beach soccer team won the gold medal after defeating its Saudi counterpart 7-2, topping the competition with 11 points. The UAE team came in second place after winning its last match against Kuwait 5-1, scoring 9 points. The Saudi team won the bronze medal and third place after scoring 6 points.

The national long course swimming team concluded its participation successfully, as it was able to win the gold medal in the 5 km race, leaving the second place to the Saudi team, while the Bahraini team came in third place.

In the individual competitions in the 5 km race, the national team swimmers continued to shine in this category, after swimmer Ayman Al-Qassimi was able to obtain the silver medal, and his teammate in the team, swimmer Nidal Al-Harasi, came in third place and won the bronze medal. As for the gold medal in the individual category, it was won by the Saudi team swimmer Mohammed Al-Zaki.

On the other hand, our national sailing team imposed its great control over the competition’s competitions, as it ended its participation by winning 7 colored medals. In the Optimist boats category competition in the general classification, the team’s sailor Khamis Al Shamakhi won the silver medal, while the team’s sailor Tarteel Al Hassaniah won third place, and the Emirati sailor Khalifa Al Rumaithi came in first place.

In the girls’ Optimist boats category competition, the national team’s sailor Tarteel Al Hassaniah won the gold medal, while Bahraini Malak Al Dosari came in second, while third place went to Emirati Madiya Al Neyadi. In the junior Optimist boats category competition, the national team’s sailor Mohammed Al Qasimi won the silver medal, while the Emirati Zayed Al Hosani won the gold medal, and third place went to Qatari Tamim Khalid.

In the girls’ Ilca 4 competition, the gold medal went to Emirati Marwa Al Hammadi, while her teammate in the national team, Alyazi Al Hammadi, came in second, while third place went to Bahraini Amina Al Sadiq. In the boys’ Ilca 4 competition, our national team sailor, Abdul Latif Al Qasimi, shone by winning the gold medal, leaving second place to Emirati Mohammed Al Marzouqi, while third place went to Bahraini Khalifa Al Dosari.

In the girls’ ILCA 6 competition, Emirati Duha Al Bishr came in first, Kuwaiti Amina Abdullah came in second, and the UAE’s Camelia Khalifa came in third. In the boys’ ILCA 6 competition, Emirati Othman Al Hammadi took first place, while Bahraini Dawood Abdullah came in second, and third place went to the national team’s sailor Moatasem Al Farsi. In the boys’ ILCA 7 competition, the national team’s sailor Hassan Al Jaberi won the gold medal, with Emirati Adel Al Baskti finishing second and Bahraini Ahmed Sadiq coming in third.
