Omani Author’s Novel Shortlisted for 18th Abdul Hameed Shoman Children’s Literature Award
Amman: A novel authored by Omani writer Ruqayya Abdullah Al Badi has been shortlisted for the 18th edition of “The Abdul Hameed Shoman Children’s Literature Award”.
The novel, titled “The Boy Who Ran with His Heart”, focused on the theme of “Adventure Literature”, a genre of discourse dedicated to the age group 12-16 years.
Shoman Foundation appointed a jury tasked with assessing the entries to the award. The jury comprised professionals in literature, criticism, and children’s literature. The criteria for evaluating the works were based on language, style, content, ideas, innovation and the authenticity of the works. The jury, acting in the most transparent manner, would look out for entries that meet “the highest standards”, without knowing the names of the participants or the countries to which they belong. – ONA
