    • Omani Student Wins silver Medal at the ISF Gymnasiade 2024 Championship in Bahrain

    Manama: Omani Player Israa Al-Siyabi won the silver medal in the fencing competitions at the 17th edition of the International School Games (Bahrain 2024), hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain until October 31.

    The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the championship, represented by the Oman School Sports Federation, with a delegation consisting of 24 players competing in 8 competitions.

    During the past two days, the Omani teams participated in athletics, fencing, chess, basketball, beach volleyball, and Paralympic sports competitions. The table tennis team will begin its participation the day after tomorrow, Tuesday.

    The basketball team will play three matches tomorrow, Monday, against the teams of France, Romania and India, and the team will conclude its competitions in the tournament next Tuesday by meeting the teams of Algeria and India.

    The team played two matches in the tournament, losing the first match against the Saudi team with a score of 13-8, and winning the second match against the Nepalese team with a score of 20-7.

    The table tennis team will begin its consultations in the tournament the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, and the technical staff is waiting for the draw of the competition, which will be tomorrow, Monday.

    Oman school team is represented by player Mohammed Yousef Al-Mutawa and player Mohammed Rashid Al-Jassasi.
