    Islamic Banking Assets Account for 19.4% of Oman’s Banking Sector

    Muscat: The total assets of Islamic banks and Islamic banking windows in the Sultanate of Oman reached approximately RO 9.3 billion by the end of November 2025, accounting for 19.4 percent of the total assets of the banking sector. This reflects an increase of 12.3 percent compared to the same period in 2024.

    According to data released by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO), the total outstanding balance of financing provided by Islamic banks and windows rose by 10.3 percent, reaching around RO 7.5 billion by the end of November 2025.

    The data also indicated that deposits held with Islamic banks and windows recorded a growth of 10.9 percent, amounting to approximately RO 7.3 billion over the same period.

    These indicators reflect the continued expansion of Islamic banking activities in the Sultanate of Oman and their growing contribution to the national banking sector.
