Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology grants a license for the female taxi service for the Otaxi app.
In a statement said Oman news agency :The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has granted approval to Aalam A’ssahab (clouds world) to provide the service of women’s taxi service via “Otaxi” app on demand, both for immediate or pre-booking.
The service offers online tracking of taxi routes at fixed prices set prior to start of trips. The license allows female drivers/operators to choose distinctive colours for their vehicles (white, pink) while ensuring privacy and security for the user.
The service will provide job opportunities for female jobseekers, allowing them to work as taxi drivers or to earn additional income. (while on queue for jobs). It will also benefit female workers, students, mothers and children will also benefit from this service. The service will also be launched on a trial basis in Muscat Governorate as a first stage on Thursday, January 20, 2022 and the rest of the governorates, respectively.
