Muscat: Mosques in Oman to reopen for prayers from Tomorrow, Sunday 15th November 2020, with strict measures in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

H.E Dr.Mohammed Al Mamari – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs :

The Supreme Committee decided to allow reopening mosques, which have a capacity to accommodate not less than 400 persons for the five obligatory prayers, as of Sunday 15 November 2020.

Mosques to be opened at the prayer’s adhan for a period not exceeding 25 minutes including prayer time. All religious books and Holy Quran shall be completely removed, and all drinking water coolers and washrooms shall be kept completely closed. It is highly important that all prayers adhere to maintaining a safe distance, wearing masks and sanitizing hands.

Social interaction, the Supreme Committee decided to allow reopening mosques, which have a capacity to accommodate not less than 400 person for the five obligatory prayers without Friday prayers at this stage as of Sunday, 15 November 2020.

To serve the legitimate interest which aims to protecting health, body , earn of living and religion and in line with the verse ‘’do not case into destruction with your own hands’’, and due to the positive.

Mosques’s custodians shall supervise the reopening of mosques and ensure the adherence of the above-mentioned regulations and precautionary procedures.
