Ibri: The Oxy Endurance Race kicks off in Rafash Square in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate , under the patronage of His Excellency Najeeb bin Ali Al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah.
More than seventy horses from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman are participating in the race, which is organized by the Oman Equestrian Federation. The race distance is 100 km and is divided into four stages, where the distance of the first and second stages is 30 km for each stage, while the distance of the third and fourth stages is 20 km for each stage.
The horses participating in the endurance race are subject to veterinary examination during the various stages of the race, according to the practice in such races in terms of the number of pulses, the fitness required for the participating horses, and the weight of the rider.
The race will also be accompanied by events related to traditional horse sports such as the show and horse skills, as well as a game of peg picking.
