Philippines to lift Covid-19 travel ban on Oman, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, 6 other countries

The Philippines Saturday announced to lift current Covid-19 travel ban on Oman, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia starting from 6 September, 2021.

The current ban will be lifted on Monday, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

Roque said that travellers from these 10 countries will have to spend 14 days in quarantine upon arrival. “International travelers coming from the above mentioned countries shall, however, comply with the appropriate entry, testing and quarantine protocols depending on their approved “Listing”. Roque said in the statement.

The travel ban, which was first imposed on April 27, 2021 due to Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, has been rolled over several times and was expanded to include 10 countries.

The Presidential spokesperson said that IATF approved the adopted of “Yellow” and “Red” classifications, in addition to the “Green List” countries / Jurisdictions / territories.

“This is based on their respective incidence rates and case counts and primary criteria, and testing data as secondary criteria,” he added.
