Waterfront Development at Al-Ashkhara Beach Advances to 55%
Jaalan Bani Bu Ali: The completion rate of the waterfront development project at Al-Ashkhara Beach in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali has exceeded 55 percent.
The project is considered one of the prominent sustainable development and tourism projects in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate and aims to enhance the area’s position as an attractive destination for tourists and visitors.
Maryam Abdullah Al Alawiya, Civil Engineer at South Al Sharqiyah Municipality, said that work on the project is progressing according to the approved timeline and in line with modern technical specifications and standards.
She explained that the project is being implemented over a total area exceeding 100,000 square metres, while the built-up area is estimated at 1,130 square metres.
She added that the total cost of the project is estimated at approximately RO 5.8 million.
The project includes an 1,800-metre bicycle path, a parallel pedestrian walkway, green spaces, a children’s play area, seating facilities, public amenities, restaurants and cafes, in addition to a control room, watchtower and service facilities.
Al Alawiya noted that the project represents a qualitative addition to the rehabilitation of Al-Ashkhara waterfront through a modern urban vision aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of the site by providing integrated service and recreational facilities that meet visitors’ expectations.
She pointed out that the project will contribute to enhancing tourism and economic activity in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, improving the quality of public facilities, supporting domestic tourism and strengthening local infrastructure.
South Al Sharqiyah Governorate includes several strategic waterfront and tourism park projects, most notably the Sur and Masirah waterfronts, the Al Hadda waterfront, Al Suwaih Tourist Park and the Asilah Waterfront project in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.
