Partial Road Closures Announced in Muscat for Tour of Oman 2026 Race Stage

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), represented by the Directorate of Relations and Security Information, announced a partial road closure on Friday, 6 February 2026, in conjunction with the Muscat Classic Stage of the Tour of Oman 2026.

The ROP stated that parking will be prohibited on both sides of roads along the race route, calling on motorists to cooperate and adhere to traffic instructions to ensure public safety and facilitate the smooth flow of traffic during the event.

According to the announcement, the race will commence at 10:55 a.m. from Al Mawj Muscat, proceeding along the coastal road in the Wilayat of Seeb toward Ma’abela Bridge. The route will then turn north at the Ma’abela traffic lights, continue along Al Salam Street, and turn right onto Al Khoud Street, passing through the sixth Al Khoud traffic light intersection.

The race will then turn at the traffic lights near the Military and Security Medical City Hospital (Al Khoud), proceed toward the Rusail area, and continue to the Wilayat of Bowsher, passing through Falaj Al Sham, Al Ansab, and Ghalah village. From there, it will head to the Wilayat of Al Amarat via the mountain road, reaching the Al Mahaj area.

The route will then turn north at the Mahaj Bridge intersection toward Wadi Uday Road, continue right to the Hamriyah area, head north toward Qantab, return to Al Bustan Roundabout, proceed north toward the Hamriyah and Yiti areas, then back toward Qantab. From Al Bustan Roundabout, the race will turn toward Sidab, with the stage concluding in front of the Oman Council.

The Royal Oman Police urged road users to plan their journeys in advance, avoid the race route during the specified time, and comply with the directions of security personnel deployed along the route.
