Muscat: Basil bin Ahmed Al-Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Sports and Youth, said that the royal directives to study the priority projects that were reached in the investment laboratory in the sports sector and to provide the necessary facilities for investors as partners in sports development represent an important incentive for institutions.
The private sector to invest in sports, making it an integral part of the economic system, and for the sports sector to contribute, along with all sectors, to the national efforts exerted in economic diversification and youth employment.
His Excellency added that the investment laboratories in the sports sector, which were organized in coordination with the Office of the Follow-up and Implementation Unit of Oman 2040 Vision , the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and the national program “We thrive”, with the participation of all sports bodies, relevant government agencies and private sector institutions, were based on three axes, which are the focus of investment projects. The focus of sports tourism and the focus of sporting events, as well as working on the possible contributions in this aspect, which were represented in the governance of the sector, media support, promotion, legislation, laws and procedures, and building national capacities in sports investment. Work will be done to provide all appropriate and supportive conditions for the private sector to engage in this national project.
His Excellency pointed out that the Omani sports strategy project has laid its foundations, axes and strategic objectives in line with the national directions adopted within the Oman 2040 Vision and is consistent with the directions approved by regional, continental and international sports bodies, explaining that the Omani sports strategy will work to lay the scientific foundations for talent exploration from the beginning School stages and accompanying them towards achieving the best sports results in accordance with the royal directives.
