Oman to Host Social Investment Forum in Salalah from August 30 to 31
Salalah: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will organize the Social Investment and Sustainable Development Forum 2026 in Salalah from 30 to 31 August, under the patronage of HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
The forum represents a national platform for dialogue, integration and partnership-building, seeking to strengthen social investment as a sustainable development and investment pathway capable of transforming social, economic and environmental challenges into viable and measurable investment opportunities.
The event aims to shift social investment from short-term initiatives towards sustainable investment models with lasting impact by bringing together government institutions, the private sector, investors, civil society organizations and social entrepreneurs.
The forum will provide participants with opportunities to exchange experiences, develop partnerships and identify practical initiatives that combine financial sustainability with measurable social, economic and environmental benefits, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The programme will focus on four main strategic areas: empowerment and integration, partnerships and stimulation, capacity-building and knowledge, and innovative financing.
The empowerment and integration track will examine ways to create an enabling environment for social investment and strengthen its role within the national investment and development ecosystem.
The partnerships and stimulation track will explore mechanisms for connecting social investors with projects and initiatives capable of generating sustainable impact, while the capacity-building and knowledge track will focus on developing expertise, knowledge and national databases documenting successful social investment experiences.
The innovative financing track will address sustainable social financing instruments, developmental endowments and other mechanisms capable of strengthening project sustainability and expanding their impact.
The forum will also feature an exhibition showcasing pioneering social investment initiatives and projects. The exhibition will highlight practical models demonstrating how social, economic and environmental challenges can be transformed into viable investment opportunities with measurable and sustainable outcomes.
It will also provide social entrepreneurs and emerging talents with an opportunity to present their products, ideas and innovations and connect with institutions, investors and potential partners, supporting efforts to transform promising initiatives into viable and sustainable projects.
