Seeb crowned 2024 Hockey Super Cup champions after beating Ahli Sidab

Muscat: Seeb Club won the 2024 Hockey Super Cup title after beating Ahli Sidab Club 4-3 on penalties in the match held at the Oman Hockey Stadium in the Wilayat of Amerat. The match was sponsored by Dr. Salem bin Khamis Al Araimi, Chairman of the Oman University Sports Committee, in the presence of Dr. Marwan bin Juma Al Juma, Chairman of the Oman Hockey Association.

The match witnessed excitement and strong competition between the two teams, as Al-Seeb’s goals were scored by player Mohammed Al-Lawatiya, who shot the ball to the left of the goalkeeper, and it settled in the net, announcing the goal of the lead for Al-Seeb in the 12th minute of the second quarter.

In the 25th minute, Ahli Sidab scored the equalizer after receiving a free kick, where player Ammar Al-Shuaibi succeeded in exploiting it with a shot to the right of the goalkeeper.

In the 34th minute, Ahli Sidab took advantage of a quick counterattack led by player Aseel Al-Muaini, who managed to score a goal with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, making the score 2-1 in favor of Ahli Sidab.

Seeb continued to try to return to the match, but it committed several defensive errors that Ahli Sidab exploited in its favor, as it obtained a free kick in the 38th minute after its midfielder was obstructed, through which player Rashid Al-Fazari succeeded in scoring the third goal with a powerful shot to the right of the goalkeeper, so Ahli Sidab advanced with a score of 3-1.

In the 48th minute, Al-Seeb managed to reduce the difference after obtaining a free kick, which was again executed by Mohammed Al-Lawatiya with a wonderful shot that embraced the net, making the score 3-2, as the pressure increased on Ahli Sidab, who were forced to retreat to their defensive areas, while Al-Seeb continued to press and created several dangerous opportunities.

In the 53rd minute, and as the match approached its end, Huthaifa Al-Balushi managed to score the equalizer with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area after a wonderful pass from his teammate, making the score 3-3, in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

In the penalty shootout, Al-Seeb Club managed to excel with a score of 4-3, to secure the Omani Super Cup title after an exciting match full of difficult events.
