Seven Killed, 33 Injured in Severe Weather in Northwestern Pakistan

Islamabad:  At least seven people were killed and 33 others injured in accidents caused by strong winds and heavy rainfall in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan during the past 24 hours, according to local authorities.

Pakistani media reported that the victims included two children, four men and one woman. The incidents were recorded in the districts of Bannu, Shangla and Mansehra.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast additional rainfall in scattered areas of northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while most parts of the country are expected to experience hot and dry weather conditions.

The latest casualties come after similar weather-related incidents earlier this month in the province, which resulted in two deaths and 31 injuries.
