Barka Leads New Business Registrations in South Al Batinah
Al Rustaq: The number of commercial registers in South Al Batinah Governorate rose by 7.4 percent in 2025, reaching 3,396, compared to 3,163 registers in 2024, bringing the total cumulative number of commercial registers to 28,669 by the end of 2025.
Tarik bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Director of the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in the governorate, said that Barka recorded the highest number of new commercial registers in 2025 with 2,490, followed by Al Rustaq (377), Al Musanaa (320), Nakhal (95), Wadi Al Maawil (63) and Al Awabi (51).
Al Harrasi noted that the rise in the number of commercial registers reflects the diversity of economic activities across the wilayats of the governorate.
He added that 39,265 commercial licences were issued in 2025, bringing the cumulative total to 93,692 licences, which underscores the growth in commercial activity and the increasing confidence of investors and entrepreneurs in the services provided.
During the same year, 3,851 industrial licences were issued, raising the cumulative number of industrial licences to 12,626 by the end of 2025.
Al Harrasi pointed out that Barka also led in new industrial licences with 2,178, followed by Al Musanaa (615), Al Rustaq (557), Nakhal (237), Wadi Al Maawil (169) and Al Awabi (95).
