South Korea’s ICT Exports Reach Record High in May 2026

Seoul: South Korea’s exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products reached a record monthly high in May 2026, supported by strong global demand for semiconductors and artificial intelligence-related products.

Data issued by the Ministry of Science and ICT showed that ICT exports totaled $47.79 billion in May, representing an increase of 128.9 percent compared to the same month in 2025.

The ministry stated that this marks the first time ICT exports have exceeded $40 billion for three consecutive months.

The growth was driven by rising demand for semiconductors and other technology products linked to artificial intelligence applications, reflecting continued expansion in the global technology sector.

South Korea is among the world’s leading exporters of semiconductors and advanced technology products, with the ICT sector serving as a major contributor to the country’s export performance and economic growth.
