Muscat: The Supreme Committee in charge of researching the mechanism of dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) held a meeting today, Tuesday, headed by His Excellency Mr. Hammoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior – Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of all its members, at the General Office of the Ministry of Interior.
The Supreme Committee highly appreciated the noble directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, upon his preference – to chair the meeting of the Supreme Committee last week, and His Majesty’s affirmation – to harness all capabilities to confront this pandemic and limit its effects, in order to protect all who live On the pure land of Oman, and to ensure that state institutions continue to provide their services, and to support the national economy in various ways to ensure the continuity of private sector activities and the performance of its business.
The Supreme committee also decided to allow the return of those holding valid residency to the Sultanate from October 1, 2020, provided they undergo a laboratory examination (PCR) upon return and adhere to a 14-day quarantine.
The Supreme Committee expresses its deep appreciation for the active contribution of PDO in equipping the field hospital and managing its facilities, looking forward to broader participation from the private sector in concerting with the government’s efforts to address the pandemic and deal with its effects.
The committee also reviewed health and epidemiological indicators and data in the Dhofar Governorate and the efforts made by all sectors to confront this pandemic, and in order to facilitate the movement of citizens and residents, the committee decided to lift the closure on the Dhofar Governorate starting on Thursday the 1st of October 2020, calling on all Individuals and institutions need to adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures that guarantee the safety of everyone.
And based on the role of the Supreme Committee in limiting the economic effects of the Coronavirus (Covid 19) pandemic on the private sector, and to reduce the financial impact on private companies and institutions, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, it decided to extend the package of facilities related to the procedures that the government provides to the private sector institutions and its workforce until the end This year, the competent authorities will announce the details of these facilities.
