Tour of Salalah & Dhofar Classic 2025 kicks off today
Salalah: The first Salalah International Cycling Tour will kick off tomorrow, Saturday, in Dhofar Governorate. Organized by the Oman Cycling Federation in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality, the five-day event will see the participation of 15 teams from within and outside the Sultanate of Oman.
The tour includes five races, the most prominent of which is the “Dhofar Classic,” held for the first time in Dhofar Governorate. The race begins at Al Mughsail and ends at Darbat Waterfalls, covering a distance of 178 kilometers.
The remaining four stages cover a total distance of 533 kilometers, starting from Ain Razat to Khor Rori, from Taqah Fort to Hajif, from Al Haffa Market to Ain Ishhat, and from Al Dahariz Beach to Wadi Darbat. Saif bin Sebaa Al Rashidi, Chairman of the Oman Cycling Federation, explained that the tour will see the participation of a group of cyclists from various Gulf, Arab, and international countries.
He noted that the Dhofar Classic race is the most prominent event in this edition, while the tour represents an integrated platform for promoting tourism and investment in Dhofar Governorate and highlighting it as a global tourist destination.
Teams and national teams from the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Thailand are participating in the tour, along with continental and international teams from Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Algeria, Indonesia, the United States of America, Rwanda, and Belgium.
