US, Iran Say Negotiations Near Final Stage for Comprehensive Agreement

Tehran: Diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran continue as both sides work toward reaching a comprehensive agreement, with Washington indicating that negotiations have entered their final stages.

US President Donald Trump said that American diplomatic efforts aimed at reaching an agreement with Iran are nearing completion.

“We are in the final phases of reaching a very good agreement,” Trump said.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Tehran and Washington continue to exchange messages in an atmosphere marked by extreme caution.

The latest developments come after Iran and Israel announced a halt to mutual attacks on Monday following direct exchanges between the two sides, the first since a ceasefire in the Middle East conflict was declared two months ago.

According to reports, Israel targeted a petrochemical complex in southwestern Iran, while Iranian officials said Tehran responded by striking a similar facility in the Israeli city of Haifa.

Diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Washington continue amid efforts to ease tensions and advance negotiations toward a broader agreement.
