Washington: Social media platform X announced new restrictions on free and unverified accounts, significantly reducing daily posting limits and introducing additional technical controls.
Under the updated policy, non-subscribed users are now limited to 50 posts per day and a maximum of 200 replies, compared to the previous limit of 2,400 posts daily.
The changes were introduced through an update to the platform’s official support page.
X said the measures aim to reduce technical pressure on servers and combat automated and fake accounts on the platform.
The new restrictions apply across all devices, with users exceeding the limits required to subscribe to X Premium packages to continue interacting on the platform.
The updated policy also limits direct messages to 500 per day, restricts users to following 400 new accounts daily and caps the use of the Grok artificial intelligence assistant at 10 messages every two hours.
