Muscat: His Excellency Yusef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, received a phone call from Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi. During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region

The Sultanate’s firm and supportive position was clearly affirmed to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East and the need to resume the peace process negotiations and fulfill the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, which is at the same time consistent with the Arab position.

Later on, His Excellency the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs received a phone call from Major General Jibril Rajoub, Secretary of the Central Committee of Fatah, in which the Palestinian official expressed their appreciation and reassurance of the Sultanate’s role and its balanced and wise policy towards Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian issue.
