1536 participants in Dhofar Khareef Shooting Competition 2023

Salalah: The Dhofar Khareef Shooting Competition 2023 with conventional weapons witnessed a wide participation of 1,536 shooters from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, an increase of 230 shooters compared to last year.

The competition, which came as part of the activities of the Dhofar Fall 2023, were held in the Field of the Chiefs of Staff in Brissot, amid strong competition between shooters, with the participation of about 40 teams in the “Sukton” dropping dishes competition.

The competition included 7 different levels, including the “Saktoon” competition for the junior and senior categories, as well as the “Saktoon” competition for the general category, the heavy rifle competition, in addition to the two competitions for dropping dishes with the Sakatoon and the heavy rifle, and the Challenge Cup competition.

The results were as follows: In the Challenge Cup competition, The shooter, Khaled bin Muhammad Al-Shasha’i, came first, and the shooter, Shams bin Ali Al-Mashali, came second, while the shooter, Muhammad bin Ali Habees, came in third place. As for the Saktoun competition for the general category, the first place was won by the archer Salem bin Hwishel Al-Dari, and the second came by the archer Khaled bin Muhammad Al-Shasha’i, while the third place was won by the archer Masoud bin Ali Al-Ma’ashani.

In the Saktoun competition for the elderly category, the shooter Ahmed bin Owais Al-Derei came first, while the shooter Saeed bin Muhammad Al-Derei came second, while the third came the archer Khalifa bin Abdullah Al-Shamli.

As for the Al-Saktoun shooting competition for the junior category, the archer Saeed bin Sulayem Ghawas won the first place, and the Al-Azhar archer bin Saif Al-Shukaili came second, while the third came the archer Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Olayani.

In the heavy rifle shooting competition, the archer Mohammed bin Mahad Alash Al Kathiri came in first place, and the archer Shams bin Ali Al Meshali won the second place, while the archer Nabhan bin Salem Al Nabhani won the third place.

Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al Ghassani, Head of Dhofar Municipality, the sponsor of the closing ceremony, honored the shooters who won the first positions in the various levels of the competition, in addition to honoring the organizers and sponsors of the competition.

It is worth noting that the number of prizes allocated to the first positions amounted to 10 cars divided among ten winners, in addition to cash prizes of more than 25 thousand Omani riyals divided among 84 shooters, while the number of organizers and arbitrators supervising the competition reached 20 people from the governorate, with the participation of 7 arbitrators from the Omani Weapons Shooting Committee. traditional.
