His Majesty Issues Royal Decree Amending Railway Project Plan, Ratifies Key Agreements

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik today issued three Royal decrees reading as follows:

Royal Decree No. 61/2025 amends Royal Decree No. 3/2015 on ascribing the public utility status to the project of implementation of the first phase of the railway line from Al Buraimi Governorate to the Wilayat of Sohar.

Article (1) stipulates that the memo and masterplan attached to Royal Decree No. 3/2015 shall be replaced with the memo and masterplan attached to this decree.

Article (2) cancels all that contradicts this decree or contravenes its provisions. Article (3) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.

Royal Decree No. 62/2025 ratifies an agreement signed in the City of Muscat on 15 January 2025 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the elimination of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to Income Tax.

Article (1) ratifies the abovementioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.

Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.

Royal Decree No. 63/2025 ratifies an agreement signed in the City of Muscat on 27 May 2025 between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the reciprocal promotion and protection of Investments.

Article (1) ratifies the abovementioned agreement in accordance with the version attached to this decree.

Article (2) says that this decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and enforced from its date of issue.
