Beijing: China successfully launched nine satellites into space from the Dongfeng Experimental Zone for Commercial Space Innovation.
The satellites were carried aboard the Lijian-1Y18 rocket and successfully entered their designated orbits, according to Xinhua News Agency.
The satellites are primarily intended for space-environment monitoring, disaster prevention and mitigation, and scientific experiments.
The launch marked the 17th mission of the Lijian series of carrier rockets, developed by CAS Space for commercial spaceflight.
According to the company, the Lijian series has so far successfully deployed one spacecraft and 121 satellites, with a combined payload mass in orbit exceeding 21 tonnes.
China’s Science and Technology Daily reported that CAS Space has achieved the largest number of satellite launches and the heaviest payloads among China’s private-sector space companies.
