Oman national football team qualifies for the Arabian Gulf Cup’26 final
Muscat: Oman beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium in Kuwait on Tuesday to reach the 26th Arabian Gulf Cup ‘Khaleeji Zain 26’ final. Oman, who will play the winner of the Bahrain vs Kuwait match in Saturday’s final, look to win its third Gulf Cup following its title victories in 2009 and 2017-2018.
An inspired performance from a ten-man Oman team saw them reach the second successive Gulf Cup final after a thrilling 2-1 win over Saudi Arabia in Kuwait on Tuesday.
Arshad Al Alawi’s sensational goal in the 74th minute gave a 10-man Oman a 1-0 lead after Al Mandhar Al Alawi was sent off in the 34th minute of the match.
Ali Al Busaidi made it 2-0 in the 84th minute and despite a goal in the 87th minute from Mohammed Kanno, Rasheed Jaber’s Red Warriors held firm to reach the final where they will play the winner of Bahrain and Kuwait on January 4.
