Talal Bin Ahmed Sentenced for Spreading False News and Joining Unlawful Gathering in Oman, According to the Oman Public Prosecution

Muscat: Imprisonment and fine for participating in a gathering, incitement, and broadcasting news and statements that would undermine the prestige of the state

The Court of First Instance in Muscat issued a judgment in the presence of the accused, Talal bin Ahmed bin Ali, on Thursday, Shawwal 11, 1446 AH, corresponding to April 10, 2025, convicting him of the misdemeanor of participating in a gathering and the misdemeanor of broadcasting news and rumors that would undermine the prestige of the state. The court sentenced him to one year in prison and a fine of OMR 500 (five hundred Omani riyals) for the first offense, and one year in prison for the second offense. The two penalties will be combined, and the more severe of them will be executed. The court ordered the publication of the judgment and obligated him to pay the expenses.

The Public Prosecution had begun investigating the accused, and concluded its report by referring him to the competent court after it was proven that he had committed the crimes attributed to him on April 7, 2025 .
