Antonio Guterres Praises Oman’s efforts in International peace and stability

New York: The UN Secretary General António Guterres commended the efforts undertaken by the Sultanate of Oman in backing peace and stability in Middle East and the world at large.

Guterres gave the statement when he visited the premises of Oman’s Permanent Delegation to the UN at New York. He pointed out that the world is well aware of Oman’s history and the role of Omanis in propagating peace in the globe through their culture of tolerance and coexistence.

He added that the landmarks left behind by Omanis stand evidence to this approach in different parts of the world, notably in Asia and Africa. “The respect earned by Oman at the international level and the culture of tolerance, coexistence among the Omanis mirror its civilized heritage,” Guterres said.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammed Awadh Al Hassan, Permanent Representative of the Sultanate of Oman at the UN Headquarters, expressed his appreciation for the visit of Guterres. He affirmed that Oman, led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, is pressing ahead with its initiatives to serve security and peace in the world, consolidate international stability and cooperation and elevate the status of the International Law.
