April 10 is the first day of Eid Al Fitr in Oman: expert Astronomer, Sabih Al Saadi

Crescent, Moon,
Crescent, Moon,

Muscat: According to the expert Astronomer Dr. Subeih bin Rahman Al-Saadi said that astronomical calculations indicate that the crescent of the month of Shawwal for the Hijri year 1445 will connect, Allah Almighty willing, with the sun at ten o’clock, 22 minutes and 01 seconds on the evening of Monday, Ramadan 28, corresponding to 4/8/2024 (according to the Sultanate’s local time).

Seeing the crescent on that day is impossible in all governorates of the Sultanate and all Arab and Islamic countries, as the crescent sets about 15 minutes before sunset (for Muscat Governorate), while it will be seen the next day, Tuesday 4/9/2024, easily in most of the governorates of the Sultanate and the majority of Arab and Islamic countries.

The crescent will remain for about 50 minutes after sunset and will be at an altitude of about 11 degrees above the western horizon of the Sultanate’s sky.

Therefore, it will be Wednesday 4/10/2024, the first of the blessed month of Shawwal of the Hijri year 1445 and the first day of the happy Eid Al Fitr. May Allah bring it back to all Muslims.

With goodness and blessings and may his days be filled with peace and harmony throughout the world. As we seize this blessed opportunity, let us sincerely pray to Allah to bless the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, for the renewed modern Omani renaissance, so that Oman remains a house of peace and a bastion of security and safety.
